EA SPORTS Active NFL Training Camp Review

EA Sports Active NFL Training Camp is a game for the Wii that combines exercise and video games in a brand new way by allowing players to train like the pros from the comfort of their living room.

Gameplay

How does it work? The game includes motion sensors, resistance bands, and a heart rate monitor. These tools allow the game to monitor how well you do and gauge how much progress you make over time.

The programmers at EA Sports worked with NFL conditioning coaches to develop the drills that went into the game, and it shows. When you start out, you choose your favorite team. Then, you practice alongside players from your team in your team's stadium. This is just the beginning.

Features

Players are able to run, jump, pass, catch, punt, and kick their way through more than 70(!) different drills and challenges. There's even a multiplayer mode that allows two players to compete in drills. If you're online, you can also share your workout data online and compete with other players.

The heart of the game lies in the NFL Combine 60-Day Challenge, which was designed by certified personal trainers and NFL conditioning coaches. In this mode, players train for the NFL Combine over a period of 60 days with drills that get more challenging as you progress.

Bottom Line

With over 70 drills and challenges, NFL Training Camp has enough variety to keep it interesting for the long haul. It's a unique game that combines the fun of video games and the benefits of exercise in a way that will score big with football fans.

Overall Score: 8.7/10
